KW Fireside Gathering 18 for Hearthstone

KW Fireside Gathering #18

Thanks to all that came out for our eighteenth Fireside Gathering that was also a Beta Test of new Fireside Brawl feature!! There was 10 people in attendance due to Anime North and other conflicting events, but of course more are always welcome! A special thanks to my volunteer assistants for their generous help to make our Fireside Gatherings run smoothly. Most importantly, thanks for your participation and support!

Since the Fireside Brawl was the one where your deck is made of multiples of just 2 cards, and the weekly brawl was the Tavern Brawl, we dividied the evening to two parts. The first part everyone did the Fireside Brawl and used points on score sheets to determine the winner. The second part everyone did the Tavern Brawl with a fresh score sheet to determine that winner. Points were gained as follows: 3 for winning against someone the first time, 2 points for winning against someone you already defeated, and 1 point if defeated. This encouraged people to seek out fresh opponents to maximize their points and was a lot of fun.

Prizes

Basil accumulated the most points to win the Fireside Brawl choice of prize, and Felinix earned the most points to win the Tavern Brawl choice of prize.

KW Fireside Gathering #18

The Mana & Mettle Tavern welcomes one and all to the upcoming KW Fireside Gathering! Meet new players and have a great time! See you there!

**IMPORTANT** Due to new requirements to avoid public traversal of desk areas, we are no longer using the main lobby and elevator. Instead, entry will be at a different door at 121 Charles Street where you will need to use the security panel to lookup "D2L Events" and then push the phone button (between the up and down arrow buttons). This will dial a phone number that the event organizers will answer and be able to remotely open the door. You will need to immediately proceed to the stairwell and then go up to the third floor, then follow the hall for quite some distance to reach the reception table, from which you can then reach the event room. Washrooms are also located in this hall. Thank you for helping to ensure the continued use of our low cost venue by using the new method of access.

We are looking into ways to give players more opportunity to win prizes, not necessarily based on having to beat everyone else as was the case in the past two Tavern Hero Qualifier events. Please check closer to the event for details.

We are limiting the age of attendees to 13+, however all persons under the age of 18 are expected to act in a mature manner and MUST have the legal document provided below signed by their parent/guardian which covers all events. Printed copies will also be available at the Fireside Gathering, but are still required to be filled out and signed once to keep on file.
