KW Fireside Gathering 2 for Hearthstone

KW Fireside Gathering #2

Thanks to all that came out for our second Fireside Gathering! There were again close to 25 people in attendance which was great momentum! We voted on whether to allow the Elise Starseeker card in Competitive Bracket decks and it was about 55 percent in favour and 45 percent against. We had Darth Vader roasting on an open fire as background ambience.

Prizes for Competitive Bracket

For this event we had two Competitive Brackets, the main one with 16 players and an overflow one with up to 8 players. Prizes were awarded to both bracket winners.

The main competitive bracket winner, Pommy, was able to pick his choice from amongst some official Blizzard Hearthstone merchandise we had purchased. Runner-up was a formidable Hsinats with honourable mentions going to DecoyLobster and aeoliant. We were able to view their final match on two wall monitors in specator mode and it was interesting to see their live competition play out in the adjacent room.

The second competitive bracket winner, CUTLASH, was also able to pick a prize item after defeating daBK in a well-fought battle.

In the future we will likely add Hearthstone t-shirts and other items. Prize choices are currently a $10-$15 value: Hearthstone lint cloth (view large image), or one glass from the Hearthstone Pint Glass collection (view large image). As the gatherings grow in size, or if people want to pay a competition entry fee, we can offer larger prizes.
