KW Fireside Gathering 5 for Hearthstone

KW Fireside Gathering #5

Thanks to all that came out for our fifth Fireside Gathering! The weather was freezing rain but still there was over 15 hardy people in attendance, with some guests braving the weather to travel in from St. Catherines! We hope to see everyone again at our next event. A special thanks again to my volunteer assistants for their generous help to make our Fireside Gatherings run smoothly.

Prizes for Competitive Bracket

For this event we had one Competitive Bracket with 16 player slots in Wild Format with decks containing any cards. Viewing of the final match was done using dual spectator mode on a wall projector in the main part of the room while the match players used a nearby room for privacy from the crowd.

The competitive bracket winner, Aulaugus, chose a huge Hearthstone mousepad from amongst the official Blizzard Hearthstone merchandise we had purchased for the prize table. The runner-up was a formidable Hsinats, with honourable mentions going to ManlyStanly and Level9001.

In the future we will likely add Hearthstone t-shirts and other items. We are checking with Blizzard about the possibility of card pack keycodes being provided by them for awarding as a prize or simply a random draw for any lucky attendee to win. Prize choices are currently a $10-$15 value: a Hearthstone mens wallet, an Arena Key bottle opener, one glass from the Hearthstone Pint Glass collection (view large image), large beach towel, paper notebook for writing, necklace with pendant, or large mousepad. As the gatherings grow in size, or if people want to pay a competition entry fee, we can offer larger prizes.
